Our Activities> In June 2008, seven children were orphaned within days of each other. Four children were from one family and three from another. In this tribal region, families gather sticks of wood to bundle and sell. Both sets of parents were attending to this task. One set of parents were attending to this task. One set of parents were both bitten by poisonous snakes and died. The second mother and father were also gathering wood. Upon hearing her husband scream after being bitten, the mother ran to him. As she was running, a tree branch feel on her head and killed her. Padma found them on a trip to visit the tribal areas. All seven children were living on the street - begging, No one caring for them. He went home and told his wife, Dorthi. They decided that they would go back and bring the children to their own home. This was done in July 2008 and thus was the start of Angela Orphanage. It took Padma months to find a school for children; he ended up having to pay double to get them in. Clothing and school supplies also needed to be purchased. Three meals and a snack times seven was added to their home budget. We need sponsors for these children for the furtherance of their care. To sponsor a child, it costs $30 a month. The orphanage needs a minimum of $210 a month to just feed the children. Please pray and ask God how he may lead you to help.
